Welcome to the King George VI Public School website!
Our caring and dedicated staff are welcoming and work very hard to ensure all students are safe, cared for and primed for learning on a daily basis. We believe that all students can learn more comfortably when the school team and families work collaboratively to ensure student success. We encourage partnerships that promote acceptance and respect for every child. King George VI hosts quality Special Education programming for individualized student needs in our Kenora area, which can focus on promoting life skills, social emotional learning, gross motor therapy, and communication support. Our Education Assistants are a warm and empathetic team, providing quality care and support for our shining stars at King George VI!
King George VI School is unique as we offer a dynamic Athletic and Recreational Program for students in Grades 4 to 6. In addition to academic programming, students explore and participate in weekly cycles of a variety of physical activities such as skating, snowshoeing, cross-fit, yoga, cross country skiing, bowling, baseball, golf, tennis, and other court sports. The Athletic and Recreational Program is dependent on active engagement participation by all students in the junior grades and promotes fitness while educating our youth to live towards a healthy and an active lifestyle. This unique program augments the Ontario Health and Physical Education Curriculum and is instructed by guest instructors within the community as well as our own educators, both specializing in their respective activity.
We welcome you to King George VI Public School - OUR KIDS COME FIRST!
